Avocado-Banana puree. Making the avocado into a puree is fascinating. I assure you that your baby is going to enjoy this recipe. It is just out of this world! I usually make it at least twice weekly for my baby and whenever I prepare it for my boy, I am always tempted to have some too. The overall experience is amazing.

Prep. Time:

Recommended age:

6 months and above

Ingredients:

1 ripe avocado

1 ripe banana

Water or breast milk/formula

Lemon (optional to prevent it from browning especially if you want to store it for another time)

Steps in preparing for 6 –10 months old

Step A: Choose a ripe avocado and banana, divide the avocado  into two and get the seed out

Step B: Peel your banana and chop it into pieces into your blender also, use a spoon and scoop the avocado butter/flesh into your blender too

Step C: Add a desired amount of water, breast milk or formula and blend to the desired consistency

Step D: Pour the desired amount of the puree into your baby’s plate and serve while you store the rest in your refrigerator

Steps in preparing for 8- 12 months

Repeat step 1

Step 2: Peel your banana and chop it into pieces into a bowl also, use a spoon and scoop the avocado butter/flesh into the same bowl

Step 3: use a fork or masher to mash it in such a way your baby can easily chew

Step 4: pour some amount into your baby’s plate and serve lukewarm.

How to store Avocado-banana puree/recipe in the fridge

  • carefully place puree into your food storage containers and squeeze your fresh lemon juice over top. You might want to stir so it could mix well
  • if you are considering freezing, squeeze at least 1 tablespoon of fresh lemon juice into it and store for up to 3 months
