How to Serve Baby-Friendly Peach Puree

This stage 1 baby food is smooth enough to be served with a spoon to a 6 or 7-month-old.

You can add it to yogurt, cereal, or Baby Rice Cereal for older babies and toddlers, or feed it plain in a small dish like you would applesauce.

For a 6-7 month child, half a frozen bean cube is an appropriate serving size. 1-2 cubes are sufficient for a more advanced infant.

Best Advice for a Successful Peach Puree

  • Use only very ripe, tender peaches for this peach puree. Remove the skin before eating the fruit.
  • Thaw the peach slices first if using frozen ones.
  • For up to three days, you can keep any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
  • Spoonfuls can be frozen in an ice cube tray. For 4-6 hours or overnight, but the food in the freezer and then remove it.
  • Freeze for up to three months after transferring to a freezer storage bag and adding a date and label. Refrigerate the food overnight in an airtight container.
  • Prepare as-is for infants or add to plain yogurt or oatmeal made from whole milk.
  • Half to one frozen bean cube is a common serving size for a 6- to 7-month-old. 1-2 cubes are sufficient for a more advanced infant.

  • Frozen peaches should not be thawed before use.
  • Use frozen peaches.

Method of Preparation

  1. Peel and pit the peaches if using fresh ones.
  2.  Place the peaches and water in a medium pot and simmer for 5–10 minutes (for fresh peaches) (frozen peaches).
  3. Slice open the vanilla bean pod lengthwise after cutting it in half. Scrape the vanilla bean with the back of a knife or spoon, saving a large pinch for later.
  4. Add the vanilla and nutmeg (or any other spices you want) just before the peaches are done cooking and mix until integrated. Toss in a few additional seconds of cooking time.
  5. Transfer the peaches to a food processor or blender with a slotted spoon, reserving the cooking liquid in the saucepan. You don’t want to thin out the puree by adding any more liquid.
  6. Starting at medium speed and then moving to high, purée the peaches until they are creamy and smooth.
  7. Serve to infant or store in the freezer for later.

Peach Puree Refrigerator Storage Tips

Puree can be kept in the refrigerator for up to four days in a sealed jar.





  • This puree can be frozen for up to four months.
  • Pour the puree into a freezer-safe container and store it there (this is my favorite freezer storage container).
  • Avoid cramming too many items into a small space.
  • Identify the containers with the date and the name of the recipe and secure the lid or saran wrap.
  • Wait at least a few hours before removing the tray from the freezer.
  • Place the baby food cubes in a ziplock baggie or stasher bag after popping them out.
  • Don’t forget to rename the baggie or stager bag so you can find it later.
